We hand-pick every bottle in our catalog based on region, style, and quality. Unlike typical retail shelves, every wine we stock comes with detailed tasting notes written by our team—so you get sommelier-level guidance without the table service pressure. Our wines are organized by region, making it easy to explore a new area or find a trusted favorite. You're shopping in Reykjavík with access to local expertise and personal recommendations.
Our curation philosophy centers on quality over quantity. We taste and evaluate each bottle ourselves, considering balance, character, and how well it represents its region. We focus on mid-market pricing—excellent wines that don't require a premium budget. We also rotate selections seasonally to highlight new discoveries and regional highlights.
Absolutely. Visit our shop in Reykjavík and our team will guide you through options based on your taste preferences, what you're cooking, or wines you've loved before. We're here to help you feel confident in your choice.
Tasting notes describe the flavors, aromas, and texture of a wine—things like "bright citrus with a hint of minerality" or "ripe red fruit with soft tannins." They help you understand what to expect before you open the bottle. Use them to match wines to your meal, discover similar styles, or explore regions you haven't tried. Our notes are written in plain language, not wine jargon.
Each wine on our site includes pairing suggestions—specific dishes and flavors it complements. As a starting point: lighter wines (whites, rosés, light reds) pair well with fish, chicken, and fresh vegetables; fuller reds suit beef, game, and rich sauces. The tasting notes on each bottle will tell you the wine's body and flavor profile, making pairing intuitive. When in doubt, ask our team in-store.
Our region-based navigation is designed exactly for this. Start with a region that interests you—perhaps based on a country you love or a wine you've enjoyed. Read the tasting notes on 2–3 bottles across different styles (light, medium, full-bodied). Our team can also recommend an entry point based on your taste preferences.
We stand behind our selections. If a bottle doesn't meet your expectations, bring it back or contact us—we'll work with you to find an alternative you'll enjoy.

Store bottles on their side (if cork-sealed) in a cool, dark place—ideally 45–65°F (7–18°C). Keep them away from direct sunlight, heat, and vibration. A wine fridge is ideal but not essential; a cool closet or basement works well. Most wines we stock are meant to drink within a few years, so long-term cellaring isn't necessary.
Most wines stay fresh for 3–5 days after opening if re-corked and refrigerated. Lighter whites and rosés fade faster; fuller reds can last longer. Use a wine stopper or re-cork tightly to slow oxidation.
